Well since I broke ground on my track, there's been three others built. So I guess we can call this R/C Ramadi instead of AR Ramadi.http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z305/TheBaxter_family/Racing%20in%20Iraq/

I like how you guys used sand bags. ;)

I'm actually trying to phase out the sandbags. Fear of broken turnbuckles and arms. We found some old fuel hoses. I would have been done with my track if the chain of command would stop sending me sand and bring me dirt like I asked!

The sad part is, you guys are fighting in a war and can still build an r/c track. But in a city of millions (Philly) only a select few have managed to open up a track, and they earn money for their work.

Awesome track! I personaly like the sand bag effect because it acts as a barrier, and if it rains, which it looks like it rarely does there, then it acts like a sponge and soaks up the water. Brilliant! By the way, how are you guys doing over there? Seen much action? Just wondering because it seems like all I hear on the news is that people are getting blown up in every way imaginable and it seems like they are forgetting to report the good news.

what do you mean pottsgroverc, that it is sad. What is sad about being able to build a racetrack while on the call of duty? Should you not be thankfull that it is peacefull enough that they may have time to do something for their pleasure, while they are sitting out there awaiting the next order?

I think what he meant is that's it sad we can build a track but people back at Philly can not get it together. Something like that...I understand what your saying!

Just an update. I built a really big dirt oval track but it's getting winter time. Wintertime here is RAINY season. So far it's not been raining like it did last season. But we are coming home in the "springtime" so not much racing going on. I'm actually putting my trucks up for sale. Need to get a dirt oval package together and another Emaxx to join my five year old in some bashing!

I'm going to be working on getting a track at Fort Stewart, GA...I'll start a new thread on that issue as I could use some help!

I mean it is sad that people can't get a good track together here in the U.S. when it is going to earn them revenue, but men and women fighting in a war can still get the energy to put one together for their own enjoyment. I have been to many store's racetracks that are pitiful compared the the Ramadi Raceway. I am glad those guys can find some spare time to enjoy themselves, they deserve it.
