Bought myself a little present for X-mas and b/day. Scheduled delivery on the 24th...just a little something to beat on over the winter, and a little challenge to myself. Take this ugly buggy and make it look sweet...somehow. Comes with ESC and even with an additional body, got it for under 100 shipped with a tower special - not bad!

Oh, and a sintered rotor upgrade for my novak brushless, which is in need of a small, light chassis to push to warp speed...this one is going to be trouble!

Cool! I always like projects like the one you will be doing. Taking an RC that nobody would think of as being eye candy and turning it into a seriously cool car. Keep us posted on your progress.

wow - and this one really needs it...lol. wanted an cheap, uncomplicated, reliable basher and this pretty much fit the bill.

not sure that's a fair statement, my hotshot works great. One sweet car, even by today's standards. The pajero is a great car too.

this is not actually a re-release, this is new-ish. From what i can see it's a grasshopper 2\Super Hornet chassis with a new design gearbox using metal diff gears (for some reason, the old one was fine), sand viper rubber and a new rather homely body. :) Call it recycled.

Actually, i was looking for a cheap used mad bull, grasshopper II or fighter buggy, but for what they were selling for on the bay, i got this cheaper NIB (how does that work?) i have the parts to convert to mad bull status though if needed. :)

I was one of the only people on earth not to have a hornet or grasshopper back in the day, so i am making up for lost time.

Not the only one as that was a little before my time when they came out . The grass hopper was the first hobby grade rc i have ever seen but i did not know it at that time i was like 7 or so.

First real RC's i saw were my neighbors racing a modded grashopper and a fox - i was blown away! a few months later after working my tail off i picked up a futaba FX-10, pretty much a clone of the tamiya striker. I remember running it for a month and thinking it had no power and finally realizing i never put the axle drive pins in when building it....oops! the rest is history, lol. Getting old too!

i'm keeping an eye out fior a good Fox too, very cool cars.

Finally built this thing, it's been sitting on a shelf for months. :) No pics yet, took it for a drive bone stock and boy does it bring back memories. Bouncing all over the place, but this thing is like a little pit-bull - amazing what it goes through.

Still think this is the ugliest car Tamiya has come out with in years though..started doing some mods. Major mods....pics to come.
