View Full Version : E-Firestorm,
I have had it for a day, and i got to say its a heck of a truck. The first few hours i had to solder on the deans, put a new esc in, solder that to deans, and then i drove. I ran 4 packs through it and nothing is broken, surprisingly. I drove full throttle off a skateboard ramp, and cleared the hood of my honda. It landed on its left front arm, im surprised it didnt break.
Pics up soon
im also 99% sure im going to mount a wing on it. I'm going to put the hellfire wing mount with an e-revo wing. opnions?

youll like the wing mount but, just my opinion, i think that the faux cf is cheesy, thats why i went with the proline High Performance wing. its also got the least down force which is good for a 2wd stadium truck. i do like the way an 8th scale wing looks on my pede and on any 10th scale truck.
thanks. i will look into that. all i know is that eventually i will go brushless,
do you have any pics

alright here are some pictures of the e firestorm 10t. It has a duratrax sprint esc, reedy 3000 6 cell, and the orignal 15t motor. As you can tell, its very wet, and im just trying to find an excuse to make it brushless. Bumpers, are going to be on the way soon. im trying to think of a name, im leaning towards BRUTE!!!

heres some pics as far as a bl system goes, do your own research cuz there are more opinions than actual systems.
bdw nice ride! and sorry about the crappy pics i took um with my ps3 web cam
Okay im thinking about going brushless, mostly positve, and i dont know which brushless system to pick from. I'm really wanting this one, the Novak havoc Sport Sensored system.

IT says its a great compliment to The Hpi E firestorm. Its a good deal, 134.99
there is also the mamba max which is 180.00 something,
any opinions

if your gonna race than sure go for the novak, if not than go for a sensorless system, like the mm, vxl, if you wana keep the price down go with Yeah Racing, $75 13.5 turn System or the 9 turn system, (forgot price but its cheap) you could also buy via ebay.
how fast would that yeah racing 12 turn make the e firestorm go?
do you have one?

its pretty quick, maybe 30, but youll have to experiment with gearing setups, the 9 turn they offer may not have enough torque for a stadium truck unless you gear it down alittle.
might go with the mamba max, i dont think i will run lipo on it though,
should i get the 7700? cause i hear that the 7700 cant run lipo
just tooo many choices!!!

it does run lipo but no bl system HAS to run lipo, most can run all the current battery types on the market ( NiMH, NiCad, Li ion, LiPo, LifePo(YES THATS REAL) ) the 7700 is very powerful, but very $$$ so look at price and performance and it becomes alot easier, also look out for "Sensored" or "sensorless", sensored is the only tpe of bl system the ROAR approves so unless you plan on doing any organized racing stay away from sensored. Sensorless is for speed, and bashing but un-raceable (as far as ROAR is concerned) but you can run more powerful, batts and generally sensorless motors have a higher kv rating. if you plan on bashing and just speed runs than your better off going sensorless.
on ebay it looks like all the mamba max prices are near eachother. 180,
thanks a lot for your help

yeah, still expensive though for me, lol, i got the vxl for 150 and to date ive had no real problems other thsn the lvc acting up. but i say go for the 7700, itll make your car scream! even with NiMH's!
but the 7700 is sensorless right?

yes but i was just thinking abou it and your better off with the 5700, the 7700 is more for street cars and pan cars, not stadium trucks.
oh all right. thanks. i just dont think im ever going to have lipo batteries, and the 7700 was fast without them,

yeah, you dont need lipo to kill nitro, just a good set of SxS 6 or 7 cell NiMHs, SPC is THE best out there no question, i bought a set of there enerG 4600 6 cells and they rock! they out perform every other battery i or any of my buds own! and they last longer than my buds 5000 or 4200 venoms'! im never buying any other brand!
thankss alot for you help again. ill go look for those.

I heard that the 7700 motors tend to heat up really bad in stadium trucks I have the traxxas vxl and its perfect for a first brushless system and myn has worked flawlessly
still searching for the right brushless system,
mamba max, idk

If you are going strictly off road, go with the 4600mamba max. If you're doing a little of everything, go with the 5700mm. Any kv above that is for the street.

+ 1 on the 5700 i think thats gonna be my next system. that or the yeah racing 9 turn system (its water proof and has a small footprint) unless the local track goes all roar on us and we have to run sensored
