Everybody starts at the beginning.

At least you started. The more you do it, the better you will get.

Keep it up!

I kinda got a thing with blue red and silver huh. I kinda liked the TC4 body when I done it, so that will basically be my paint scheme for a good while. The Maxx Body, I thought it turned out well for masking tape and rattle cans, but I have not been able to find another body that scheme looked good on. I think people have mostly gone away with racing stripes, and go more for technical difficulty and wow effect. I am a basic guy, with basic tastes, and my bodys are the only like it on the track. One day I will go with airbrushes and liquid mask, but for now, bleeds make it one of a kind.

don't be so hard on yourself. I've been dong this for 17 years and i can't paint a body at all. Sometimes they come out ok, sometimes they come out terrible. not my strong suit either. :)

2 tips i have found to help with the bleeds is burnish the edges of the tape with a pen or something - just use the edge of the pen to push down on the edges of the tape so it sticks better. it helps quite a bit! then, when you pull the tape off, if you have a little bleed, use an exacto to scrape off the paint where it bled before going to the next color.

What he said.

One of my first shells had bleeds everywhere, and the cut lines looked like crap, and after I raced with it for about a year (I was my 2nd year in rc/racing) there really wasn't much paint left on it. But now look what I can do (I have a few shells posted on the site somewhere).

Hey now, this ain't a pity post, I just figured out why I saw all these dont be hard on your self and every one starts somewere, I was not intending on the tread title to be I suck, that was supposed to have been the line for the rusty body, ha ha. Wow evil, I have saw some of your stuff, and they look great. Like I said though, fancy body ain't my style, if I had a show truck, I would hit you or some other good painter up to do a body for me.
Thanks for the tip oldschool. I try to press down the edges with my fingers, but I have fat fingers so I cannot get the creases and such very well. I try to use a testors hobby knife, the handle end for those areas. But I aint to sucessful. (plus I get in to big a hurry). I never really thought about scraping the runs off. That is a good idea.
Now, one day I will get an airbrush, and watch out Evil, I will show ya up....!!!???...Maybe! N-E-Ways, Thanx for the tips guys, and bring back the racing stripes.
