I would stick with the plastic chassis, its pretty tough and I havent seen many ppl that have broken them yet.

Looks good though, once I get my VXL esc fixed, I will put it in my Slash :cool:

ya the bigest problem with them is usually the caster blocks so ive got those in rpm already

well Im sorry to say my lil brother wouldnt take pics for me but I got 15 min runtime with a 3300mah battery it was running a lil hot but I think its because I was driving in real lose mulch so the I had the gas opend up doing donuts and burnouts

You must beat your slash like nobody else because I am bashing mine as hard as I have bashed any rc and it won't break. Its invinsible!

oh I broke the caster block because the wind caught it in mid are and it landed sidways off a 3 1/2 foot jump or so I think thats what bent the hinge pins to it was a pretty non amazing crash Ive noticed that if the slash rolls and tumbles you wont have any damadge but if it crashes and sticks the landding you may have to worry

yes I do beat my slash like nothing else I think its the toughtest one on the market:D

You mean one tire is spinning hard while the other stays put? If so I put some heavy silicone diff fluid in mine and its 100% better. stock the diff only has a bit of grease in it and isnt sealed that well, but I put a little rtv sealant around the opening when I put in the fluid and no leaks. you can also get an aluminm spool for these if you want it totally locked.

Just put rtv sealant around the opening when you fill it with fluid, I didnt do the whole o-ring thing and the diff fluid has been in there for 3 weeks and hasnt leaked yet. Try it out. Hey, Nitrobasher how are the switch tires and epic bead locks? Are they worth the money?

traxxas uses a sillicone grease i think, i use ae stealth grease. and yes the ball diff is a gynormous waste of money

Just go to any autoparts store and ask for some rtv sealant, its only a few bucks for a big tube.

so wadya guys think i know its nothing special... but Im gunna get some new parts for it sooner or later...(new vw bug shell, metall output shafts, seal the diff, more rpm stuph):D

by the way I finnally got some replacment parts for my duratrax evader buggy the rear diff case was broken all the shock shafts were bent but one and the rear tires are slicks... so I orderd new titanium nitride shock shafts new set of rims(broke the rear rims also) some proline dirt hogs to put on (Im mostly gunna bash it for now) a new diff case, and a new motor a 17t venom fireball and Im taking the xl-5 ecs from my slash to use the new motor Im getting... if you want me to post some pics I will start a new thread in the electric buggy... just have to wait for the shipping...

a Rc18t and an r which both get raced every saturday at Indyslots ( too many upgrades to list but if you get the magazine (rcd) me and my bros rally cars are in the april one)
and a M03 which i also race

I was told its way better and its easyer to mask stuph up all you do is paint it on then use an xcato knife to cut it out... just have to be carfule about cutting the shell

Actually its alot harder than it sounds so make sure to put it on in thin coats and have about like 8 coats to make it easier to cut without damaging the body and easier to peel. :)

Racing is an amazing part of the hobby that teaches you skills about setting up your car and driving like nothing else.

Get into racing as soon as you can, althouhg you wont be as good as anybody the first couple of times you will improve and after a year or so you should be running in the A main atleast if you do all the resaerch and keep your car maintainded and set up.

I have to warn you it will get expensive so watch your spendings.

Yeah but dont you have brushless in your slash because if you do you will run in the modified class which does permit the epic and switch combo so if you got brushless you will be fine.:cool:

well this isnt much but I decieded to do a picture of the shell im gunna paint and this is what I got... I like it... its simple but clean and would fit a corr truck perfect (especially since corr trucks tend to have simple paint jobs;)) those spots on the side are gunna be sponser decals

Why dont you just get some Jato shafts which are pretty much undistructable.
I have seen guys use the Novak HV and not even damage them so they will no doubt hold up to what ever a VXL could throw at it. ;)

yay! I got a new battery... its a venom 3300 7cell flat pack with traxxas connectors for $40 with shipping:D so it was a fairly good deal if you really want pics of a battery I can post them but I dont know why youd want em

just wondering is this battery worth the money? it seems to be fine the wires are a little smaller but thats the only poor thing about it and it doesnt have as much punch... since it does have less punch will that give me greater run times? I havent had the chance to run the whole pack yet:(

heres the story... I was driving around my yard when I saw a nice mound to jump off of it was right next to our well wich is a old hand dug well so it has a nice cement cover on it... sitting on it from were I was sitting was just a couple of board but then my car hit hard and stoped... there was an angle iron srewed to it:eek: didnt do to much damedge... and the shell is now a badge of honnor:cool:

heres another small update... I used some sharpy to cover up the shiny screws for the beads and also for the nut that holds the tire on... I experimented afterwards with a stock tire but it turned out kinda brown. I have to use duck tape to hold the reciver box anntenna mount on because all the hobby shops are out till next week!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I have a race this saturday:(

I did really well for my first race!!!!!!!! I got 2nd!!!!!!!! there wasnt enough cars in my clash so I got lumped with an emaxx that one... I may have one but I rolled my truck in the very begining... I should have a vidup soon... I had a great time! Iwish I had a race before next month:( but its a month away I cant wait!!!!!!!!

I did break one part... the metal pin that the battery strap hooks to I actually broke the metal part I think it may have had a defection in it....

I did really well for my first race!!!!!!!! I got 2nd!!!!!!!! there wasnt enough cars in my clash so I got lumped with an emaxx that one... I may have one but I rolled my truck in the very begining... I should have a vidup soon... I had a great time! Iwish I had a race before next month:( but its a month away I cant wait!!!!!!!!

its only once a month because its part of nolimit rc and thats how they run it... its not an offical track... its some corrigated tubing set out on a field with a few plywood jumps... its actually run just like monster jam :)

A little late Eric I have two tamiya CC01/XC and love running those on my back yard crwaler track (which is nothing more than some rocks, a dirt hill, some rocks, a trench, and finally some rocks). I love driving the crawlers cause its just you and the car and its not about going the fastest or jumping the highest just take your time and get over the rock. :cool:

um... I think its 23tooth pinion and 86tooth spur... but he may want more like a 20tooth pinion because the 23tooth makes the motor a little warm:D

I would buy a gopro camera but they are expensive and dont have very good light reaction so when you drive though shadows and into light it gets really bright.. almost white:( but I think I can make a braket for this... it will be much cheaper in the end.

pretty big update compared to the last one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally put my LED kit that I won from RCD givaway!!! it looks pretty sweet heres some pics... all I did was drill some holes then use the sticky stuph it came with to put it on

well I had to pull it out:( the wire broke at the bulb:mad: so now I dont have a light kit:mad::mad::mad: it was a bad desine... if forced me to bent the wire at the connection piont:mad::(

one update... I broke the front shock tower so I droped some rpm shock towers front and rear otherwise all my money went into my emaxx and now saving for the clod... but its running great

well rough news... I was going off a 4 1/2 foot jump the other day and it was a nice big kicker so it launched my slash at least 7 feet in the air... with no down ramp:eek: the only thing I did was bend a small pin in the caster block... but luckily I have extras around here somewhere...

update! just made myself some mudflaps for both front and back(yes I said front:D)... but its made with orange duck tape... I need some black to put over top of it Ill get some pics when I get it fixed
