View Full Version : Mini LST project
1 bad bug

This is my first project thread so I hope everything goes well. I have had my Mini LST2 for about a year and a half, and just like the original Mini LST I hade before it, the Mini LST2 was again plagued by weak servos. I was so sick of Mini LSTs giving me nothing but trouble so I let it sit on a shelf for months, untill I finally decided that it looked too cool to just let it sit there collecting dust. My plan is to make the most race capable mini that I can and in this thread I am going to detail every part of its construction...
Here is the Mini LST2 as it sits right now, totally stock and missing servos. So to begin the project I ordered an Exotek LXT conversion kit today and it should arrive by the end of this week. Hopefully the LXT conversion will take care of the servo issue.

Like you I have owned and had servo issues with the MLST line. They are def cool trucks though, and my understanding is that the Exotek kit will solve the servo problem forever. I look forward to following your project.

I have the LXT, and trust me, you will have no servo issues if it is installed properly. I had to trim the gear cover to clear the servo saver, but everything else went well. I will take pics of the trimmed gear cover soon. Exotek makes a great product. You will be pleased. Keep us informed.
Here is mine.

Not right away, as I'm also picking up a new Slash sometime this week, but in the not so far off future I will probably do the Exotek conversion to it.

I finally got the LXT conversion from Exotek in today and spent about 2 hours getting everything together. The directions are pretty clear for the most part and the quality of the kit itself is excellent. I'm only using a budget tower hobbies servo with some Associated metal gears at the moment so it will have do for now. Here it is, the Mini LXT conversion...

I took it out for a spin and everything works great. The turning is tighter than ever and Im no longer hearing that annying little buzz coming from the front of the truck. I think that the suspension arms are next for an upgrade, so keep checking back for updates.
sweet! that chassis looks cool.
