This Rig is being built for our 2.2 Scale Pro Mod Class. We have a few classes that we run using different rules and class restrictions than the USRCCA. This class is basically a Scale Class on roids, like a Top Truck thing.

The chassis worked really well and I'm very happy with the design, it's gone through a lot of changes to get to this stage. The idea behind this chassis is to combine all of the HellCAT chassis into one modable edition.

why not mount the lower links inboard the chassis? less for the rocks to get hooked up on

Well I don't think you can get them inboard without spacing them away from the rails and that would cause issue with the drive shafts and the upper links.
It was never an issue on the original Kreaky, truthfully I've never caught a link on anything and our comps are often on broken rock and concrete, I worry more about driveshafts, axles, skids, those seem to always catch and need the most design work.

mmhmm i see what you're saying. i'm jus thinkin about how the stock axial chassis had the links outboard and it caused some troubles. but you're the build master builder. lol i'm jus that onlooker drooling on his keyboard

LOL - Well I don't know about master. But the Stock Axial was actually wider than this chassis which was another key problem with hanging up on things. But of course this is no comp crawler, it's a Comp Scaler.
Well here she is after some primer, putty, rinse and repeat.

Well I've been real busy with stuff that's not my RC's, but anyways, I got some time to finish the bumper make a fake winch and paint it.

Nothing like a sharpie, a bic pen and some styrene, instant winch.

thers a company that makes rusting paint... I dont know what its called though... I know its a metal that you paint on then when it dries you paint on a rusting agent adn that makes rust... but he could have done it differently...

Nah, I don't use the rust paint, it's is a faux rusting technique that way there is never any damage doen to the material it's applied to and when it gets scatches I can touch them up with new rust.
The chassis and axles were done using spray paint.
The body uses testors enamels and acrylic washes.

Hey, no worries, I just gotta make sure I beat Shelby, he's the only one running a non HellCAT R-49 2.2, so as long as I get beat by my own designs I'm ok....:D

I love that body and that tool box on back is awsome. I will never figure out how you guys do all that styrine work so perfectly. I can't even build a chassis without burning up my tools.
