I built a hilux high lift and am trying to finish it off. I am looking for tips on detail painting such as the break lights, indicators. Its my first scale build and i am trying to have it as realistic as possible. here are some pics(you will see what i mean with the rear lights)

the great rock crawling wizard Jason Carter did a muddyed up hi-lux in an older
issue of RCD, it goes somewhat into detailing.

but for taillights, you take them off, paint the inside clear red with clear red paints
used on model cars. and when that is dry, paint over the clear red with
some shiny silver/chrome paint (not water based paints). let that dry and you should have a fairly nice taillight.

you may want to consult others for different methods.

You could also use Sharpie markers to color the lenses from the inside.

That's what I did with the lenses on this truggy...

...and the lenses on the Hilux. I also used a black Sharpie to detail the outside of the lenses.
