The 2009 Short-Course Nationals
Team Associated SC10 Stock
The following must be factory stock OEM items:
Chassis, Suspension Arms, Shock Towers, Transmission including Differential, steering bellcrank, Tires, Wheels, Shocks, Body Mounts, Driveshafts, ETC.
The use of the following aftermarket items are allowed:
C-Hubs, Steering Knuckles, Rear Hubs, Shock Caps, Short-Course Style Bodies, Shock Oil, Shock Springs, Turnbuckles. If it does not say you can change the item, you can’t.
Electronics/Battery:
Open to all servos, brushless speed controls, Transmitters/Receivers (the use of a 2.4GHZ Radio System Is Strongly Encouraged), 6 NiMH Style Battery Packs or 2-Cell LiPo Type Battery Packs.
Motor:
Must use a 17.5 Turn ROAR Approved Brushless Motor From ANY Manufacturer. Labeling On The Motor Must be Clear. A 27 Turn ROAR Legal brushed motor of any type is also allowed.
Dimensions: Vehicles Must Conform To The Factory Stock Dimensions. They are as follows:
21.65 Inches (550mm) Length +/- 5mm
11.53 Inches (293mm) Width +/- 5mm
12.87 Inches (327mm) Wheelbase +/- 5mm
Traxxas Slash Stock
The following must be factory stock OEM items:
Motor, Chassis, Suspension Arms, Shock Towers, steering bellcrank, Transmission including Differential, Tires, Wheels, Speed Control, Servo, Shocks, Body Mounts, Driveshafts, ETC.
The use of the following aftermarket items are allowed:

In the spirit of Short- Course racing only Tires/Wheels Intended For Use In Short-Course Style R/C Racing Are Allowed. This means no 1/8 scale buggy tires and wheels. Tires should be similar to the Team Associated 9801, Traxxas 5871, and Pro Line 1076, 1078
Dimensions: Vehicles Must Not Exceed The Following Dimensions

11.65 Inches (296mm) Track Width + 5mm

Other vehicles conforming to the above mentioned rules and specs may be allowed pending race director’s approval.
Slash VXL Stock

Motor, Chassis, Suspension Arms, Rockers, Transmission including Differentials, Tires, Wheels, Speed Control, Servo, Shocks, Body Mounts, Driveshafts, ETC.
The use of the following aftermarket items are allowed:
Receiver/Transmitter (the use of a 2.4GHZ Radio System Is Strongly Encouraged),Steering Knuckles, Short-Course Style Bodies, Shock Oil, Shock Springs, Turnbuckles/Push Rods. If it does not say you can change the item, you can’t.
Battery:
Vehicles May Use 6 or 7-cell NiMH Style Battery Packs or 2-Cell LiPo Type Battery Packs.
Dimensions:
Vehicles must be within+/- 5mm of the factory stock dimensions
4wd Nitro Open (Nitro SC8 and Slayer type similar)
Motor:
Vehicles may use any nitro powered motor so long as modification of the chassis is not required. The use of aftermarket motor mounts is allowed.
Electronics:
Open Servos, Receiver Pack, Transmitter/Receiver (the use of a 2.4GHZ Radio System Is Strongly Encouraged)

In the spirit of Short- Course racing only Tires/Wheels Intended For Use In Short-Course Style

SC8

Other Important Rules:
Race Format:
All qualifying races (electric and nitro) will be 5-minutes long
Electric 2wd Mains will be 6-minutes long
Electric 4wd Mains will be 10 minutes long
Nitro A-Mains will be 15-Minutes long
Nitro B-Mains will be 10 Minutes long
All other nitro mains will be 5-minutes long
All races, including qualifying and mains, will be heads up in style. Vehicles will be lined up 4-wide on the straight-a-way (this will make for 3 rows) and when the starting tone sounds the race will begin.
Bump-Ups
Once qualifying is complete 10 vehicles will be placed in each main based on their single best qualifying time. Lower mains will be raced first with the top two vehicles (first and second place) bumping up the next, higher, main. This will make for a maximum of 12 vehicles is subsequent mains.
Transponders:
While not required, the use of personal transponders is strongly suggested.

First, I want to thank everyone who attend the SC Nats this past weekend. It was a great event and, even though the rain made life difficult we got all out racing in.
