Hey guys, just thought I'd start this up, since it doesn't appear to be posted anywhere.
2nd Annual RC Driver Race Of Champions July 6/7/8. Friday controlled practice, Sat Quals, Sunday mains.
FYI, I am Rob, AKA LD3Furious on "that other" forum. I will be there taking pics and helping out where I can...and hopefully racing too, lol.

R.C. Driver magazine has been gracious enough to sponsor this race that will be held at Wolcott Hobby Raceway in Wolcott, CT. Prizes and trophies will be given away at the R.O.C. Last year there were 130 entries, this year we are expecting even more!

Don't forget, K-Tru, that last year's race was only one day, and this year it's three. Plus, we didn't even really advertise it last year.

That's why I started this thread :)

This was the best race I attended all last year. I'm sure it's going to be even bigger this year.

Congrats to all the winners (and those who braved the fireworks fight and extreme nakedness at Lester's house on Saturday night)! I felt bad for Kelby Roberts, who came out on Sunday and ended up breaking and not bumping up (he definitely would have been a contender for the wins had he made the A mains).
I've never seen so many small mammals at one race: I counted two kittens (including RC Stowaway), Murray the Chiuhuaha, a shaved Pomeranian, and Lester's Mom's transponder-equipped Boxer pup.

Frank...any chance you got some shots of the buggy D? I'd just about cut off an arm for a quality action pic of my buggy.

I don't think so, SK3; which car is yours?
I'll try to remember to bring my camera stuff the next time I race at Wolcott, so lemme know when you'll be there.
Were you the guy shooting from the infield? You should have introduced yourself, man!
I told Neil that I got some good shots of his truck. This is for you, Neil; I told ya so!

Most likely, that was me, lol. I run Wolcott weekly and will probably go to Enfield for Off Road Madness next month. You are right, I should have intro'd myself...didn't really think of it...but, I was standing right next to you while you were taking your camera out for the trophy presentation, under the tent.
Im usually wicked busy, especially at Lester's big races...takin pics, pitting, cornering, etc etc...anyway, this is a still shot...to look for next time :P:P:P
PS- Glad the glare on the wing is hiding that one sticker...SORRY! I actually did replace that one with an RCD sticker for the ROC...this is an older pic though.

Yeah that's my friend Rick Bixby's Herbie fully unloaded. Poor Rick suffered innumerable technical glitches throughout the weekend, but gotta love the bug.:p

Some more action from the ROC. Admittedly, the quality is less than stellar...but one can't expect much from a cheesy $100 Point n Shoot :P

Are there results posted anywhere? How was the turn out? More or less than MM07 two weeks ago?
Thanks

Not quite as large as that....but still a great show. And RCD definitely had more prizes to put up for the raffle. Les rented a 2 ton packer before this event, so the track held up awesome all w/end. It was hotter, but not as windy so less dust was flying. Results aren't posted yet, that I know of, but they should be here ( http://www.mylaps.com/results/showevents.jsp?st=3&org=56989 ) soon.
