Well I've had this truck since near the first of the year and I'm finally getting to it. In my defense I don't normally do custom builds due to a lack of time, but 4xFord said to take all the time I needed to build this truck. Also we changed some things along the way that delayed things but better parts were needed.

This is what I first received, I have no idea the history of this truck so don't ask.

It appears at one time it was going to be really LOOOOOONNNNNGGGG, maybe a limo truck, not sure. But 4xFord wanted a more scale truck.

So I cut it all apart.

After doing some work on the cab and the bed we decided to use a different bed, I originally only wanted the bed surface, but decided to use the sides as well, that way the rails would be cut where I wanted them. Wish I would have decided this before I cut up and shortened the others, oh well, 4xford now has an extra set...LOL

It's not exactly a new bed, but it will work.

Time to remove the bed surface, that hole will need to be fixed.

The new bed sides, they still need to be shortened.

Oh and the top of the wheel wells.

A quick pic of the new inner bed walls.

Sorry I didn't take to many inbetween pics. It took forever to get the old paint off, it would appear that laquers and enamels were mixed in layers so I had to use both brake fluid and super clean to get back down to the primer. This took probably a week of soaking and scraping, I know a new bed could have been bought, I'm a sucker for restoration.

Thanks.

Here is how it stands with the body. I not only shortened the bed to short bed length, but I shortened the cab a hair to make it scale, the first build was a little to long.

I detailed the inside of the tailgate, it does not open for structural reasons, the owner swears it will see light duty, but I want to know if it does roll down the rocks it's going to survive. The tailgate body piece is removeable to access the light buckets.
