ok, i finally got it, negociated him down to 40 bucks, ill post up pics tonight but it has some issues that i need some answers to.

#1, the fuel tank has some jelled up gunk in the bottom of it. i need to know what that would be and how can i clean it without destroying the tank. also, its in the fuel lines, but i know they are good so ill blow um out with the blow gun.

#2, how does the carbuerator work on adjusting? it has a little screw on the top and im wondering how it works, havent really found an answer to that yet, but i have tried to figure it out.

#3, the exhast part of the car where it meets the header is ver loose and the fuel line for the vapors that goes into the exhast, not the header, keeps making the exhasut pop off the header and i cant seem to get it to work right.

#4, is the pull starter supposed to be really stiff or is that bad? im thinking maybe the piston just needs to be lubed up but i could be wrong, have been before and i know i could be wrong again.

#5, how do i check which body goes on it? throguth hpi they have 200mm and 190mm, how do i know which i have?

please help me guys, pics will be up tonight.

#1. that is gummed up fuel. the alcohol does that after it sits for a while.
make sure the fuel line is completely open, and I'd take the carb and backplate
off to make sure there isnt that stuff in there.

#2. the screw on top adjusts overall fuel amount, and on them WOT runs, becomes the only source for fuel. imagine a hollow tube with a hole in the side (thats where the fuel goes in), that screw is threaded and pointed so when you turn it inwards (clockwise) it blocks off some of the fuel coming in from the line. that hole assembly is just one half of the carb. after the fuel goes through that, at idle, it goes passed the low end needle. look at you carb with the filter off. open the carb as open as it goes. inside will be a horizontal needle. the low end one. as the carb opens, it pulls the needle away from where the fuel comes in. then it goes into the engine.
despite what it may be called, the idle needle does not control the idle solely. the idle is a combination of top and low end needle.

#3 does it have the rubber coupling or springs on it?

#4 possibly the same answer as #1

#5 get a ruler and measure the track width. (tire sidewall to sidewall)

the only mod i did to it was added my old air filter since all it had was the housing for the stock one, not the insert foam for it, and also, got a pic of it next to my firestorm

Ahhh... memories. Think that was the third nitro I owned back in the day. 95% sure that is 200mm.

Couple things I would add - looks like it sat for a while with fuel in the tank. Defintely recommend cleaning out the tank with motor cleaner and replacing the fuel lines. Also, maybe pull off the pull starter and spray out the 1-way bearing in there as well. I'm not sure about the engine internals, but if it sat for a while with fuel they they could be in questionable shape.

I thing I always do when picking up a used car is range test the radio. Go to the parking lot or wherever I plan to run it, walk as far away as I can and make sure the radio does not glitch or cut out. Nothing ruins a new vehicle like finding out you have interference on the frequency and the car zooms into a curb as soon as it is 50 ft away. :(

put zip-ties around the rubber coupling that connects the header and the muffler. that should help.
