so, ive beeen running some break-in, while waiting for parts so i can get it in running condition, but every thing but the steering, and spur gear work on my Firestorm (i need to move back the engine, but the hexes are stripped to metal).
and my question is this: is it bad to run with out the exhaust part of the exhaust on? i was woking on it today, and ran it just the the part that comes out the back.. and 20 minuits later, by ears are still ringing
so, is that bad for it? becasue i know i might wanna run it like that for a half tank or so, to show my dad how loud it is :)

how 'da halibut are you getting fuel to the carb? theres nothing wrong, but you arent getting optimal power throughout the RPMs.

get a piece of pipe the same size as the manifold (about 5/8") cut it to the same length as your muffler (be specific, the manifold is also part of the exhaust), drill a hole 3/4 down the length to thread a pressure fitting on (thread is sometimes 6-40). you now have a straight pipe like I have.

if you want it to sound good, fit in a 4-stroke. but its been tried, failed, and given up on. in that order.

What do you mean "exhaust part of the exhaust"? If you mean the pipe, then yes, thats very bad for the engine
