I'm trying to get my revo up to race specs! Practice, practice, practice! I'm about to put an O.S. .21 tm engine in my revo and I'm trying to figure out what are good run times? With my 3.3 I can get a good 11 min. before refueling! I don't have anyone to help with it and I'm using just a stop watch and old fashion tuning to keep this way. But with the O.S .21 TM engine ( which many are running at the track) I don't have any idea? Most guys ( and gals) at the track have all this supped up radio gear and it is either engine or radio? I have a tactic sport 2.4 with hitech servos and the response times are great but I want to get into the competition part of the hobby! Any racers out there that can give some advice I would appreciate it?
I will be racing on hard pack clay, high humidity, temps around 80-90 deg., Mikes Hobbies Porter Tx.
Revo O.S. .21 Tm, or trx 3.3, bump start, pretty much a Platinum spec. Proline holeshot tires, sways, diffs, rear bk, etc. etc.

Well, it depends on your driving style, truck setup, motor, track leanth and setup, ect. I could go out there, run good lap times, be consistant and conserve a few laps of fuel, or I could change the truck setup, alter my driving style, be more aggressive, turn fast times, and not worry about fuel mileage. You HAVE HAVE HAVE o find a buddy to pit for you. You can not be compeditive without that. Sometimes a local running in a different class will help you, the club racers are generally good people. I could offer different setups for you, but it depends on what your truck likes vs your driving style. I find that not everyone can get the same results at the same track with the same setup. Practice is key, experament to find something that works for you. A revo manuel can help a ton on finding basic tunes for suspention. Me personally, I was faster with the TRX 3.3 engine, but I ran it on a 2.5 chassis and was very fast, truggy class fast.

Experiment with setup regarding gearing, shift timing, clutch timing, camber/caster/toe, expos, and suspension. A MUST HAVE for your conditions is a huge airfilter, keep it clean and well oiled and you will get good temps and mileage from that engine. Other than that, follow phils advice
