Hear this question a lot, and it's such a broad question. What's your budget? What do you like about the truck? What do you not like? It's such a personal question it's almost impossible to answer.

Having said that, if you are planning on racing the only thing you truly need is a good set of tires. Talk to the people at your track and get an idea of what they are running.

Grab a set of the rules as well, and make sure your engine fits in the truggy class.

Possibly, upgrade to a 2.4ghz radio so you don't have to worry about frequency conflicts.

Other than that, the sky's the limit as far as what you can change. It's a solid truck right out of the box, and you don't have change everything around to go race.

Thanks for the advice i might try to post a picture of it at some point. right now i have a set of imex wheels and flamw tread tires. they work for bashing which is what i do now but i dont know how they would perform on the track. It has the stock .26 engine but im thinking about getting the new os .25 to put in it. I dont want to spend a lot of money on the radio system so i might just get a 2 channel futaba system..

You don't have to get a 2.4ghz radio to race it, certainly. Helps when you go to the track though. Not many people run AM anymore (assuming you currently have an AM radio) so usually I would imagine frequencies are not much of a problem anymore.

There are some great, affordable 2.4 radios on the market. the Tactic is a great basic 2.4 at a good price.

thanks ill definitely have to look into it because i dont think the track i want to race at allows am/fm 27 mhz radios because of the airfield thats near by and the tactic isnt that expensive.
