Ok, so still having problems with one of the guy's brushless Emaxx. But I just picked up a near complete chassis that is practically brandnew. I'm in the process of putting it back together. I'm almost there! And not breaking the bank doing so. So the wife's happy to hear that. But it's only a matter of time before I start tweaking with it. So I would like to make a budget project in the near future. So I would love to hear upgrades that are well worth their money. I'm not looking to build a show truck or a pretty truck! I want a truck that will perform and not leave me unsatisfied reaching for my brushless T4. I do understand it's an Emaxx. But I want to make it solid, tough and better yet...FAST! I want to start with drivetrain and work that way. Instead of putting in a brushless and tearing up stock stuff. So let me have your thoughts on what to consider please!

well rpm a arms and other rpm parts are a plus also if it is brushless you might want to upgrade the trans with light weight idler shafts, input and output shafts and aluminum idler gears and if you happen to blow a diff do the rr diff sets also might want to upgrade the drive shafts (wheels and center) to either 3.3 style or get cvds...

My setup includes a aluminum chasis, aluminum bulkheads ,rpm arms all around, and rpm bulkhead braces. This setup while not bulletproof keeps the aluminum centralized while leaving the plastic to take the brunt of any punishment. As far as drivetrain i agree that idlers and steel drive shafts keep the internal breaks to a minumum. A highly recommend the aluminum chasis having gone through 3 stock ones.

almuminum bulks, rpm a-arms, steel idler shaft, FLM aluminum diff cups, 3.3 diff cases, traxxas big bore shocks, MIP cvds.
That should give you a pretty tough truck to start with.
