Hey Guys; Have to ever flipped your R/C vehicle and scratched the roof all to he**?? :( Especially on the asphalt. :eek: I once ground holes through the lexan on the roof just over the door windows. :mad: Hey sometimes you just roof slide. :D Well I've been staying up late thinking of a way to solve our problem.Jk I call em' roof railz and I made them out of old plastic OEM T-Maxx bumpers. The first ones are just hacked up and slapped on my Jato. To test the fuctionality of the idea. Then I had more time and cut the bumpers down to one rail instead of two. I will be molding the final prototype out of hi impact Delrin plastic. Curved to fit the slope of the roof. Kind of like a motorcylce roadracers knee pucks that slides across the asphalt when they go whipping into a high speed turn. Here are a couple of pix of how they came out.Later,Wrench. .

mounting;
First thing I did was mark holes on top of the roof to drill mounting holes.
Installed flush countersunk screws with locknuts on the backside under the roof.

Basher Bashing,Hey Now. Is that a chargable offence? Let me call Roar. No I am very guilty of runnig up and down the road in front of my house for test and tune.I on occation will get trigger heavy and toss it on it's lid now and again. So after grinding a hole in the roof of a car.I had an idea to stop it. Hey, I was bored one night.I will post some pix of the finished product upon completion.Thanks for all the feedback guys.Later,Wrench.

Nothing wrong with your idea or your implementation. I also use a layer of heavy clear vinyl on the roof of my truck to help ward off the occasional roof ride rash. You can't totally prevent flipping over, so why not try to keep your lid fresh???

Thanks for sharing your idea.

That's a great Ideal. I know that sometimes I spent more time on my top than the black round things as was mentioned early. I would like to see the finished product and maby you could bive me some tips on how to keep my top clean.
