Greetings,

Is there anyone here that is interested in R/C Truck & Tractor pulling? I am a member of the NR/CTPA and was just looking to see if there was anyone on this board that was into pulling or had the interest.

Thanks,

Hmmm. Much more intrest than I thunk there'd be. What kinda pullers y'alls interested in? I, myself have a carpet Pro-Stock tractor, Dirt Box Stock Clod, and two Carpet Big Rigs, including the 2007 NR/CTPA World Champion. Looker, are thos pics from the Ihobby? I wish I could go there sometime, but Pennsylvania's a bit far away.

Yes they are from I-Hobby. Their sled was amazing ! But made to hold over 500lbs. ! The Deere model is a 4 stroke engine & amazing in scale. I would recommend getting to the show. It was great.

Yea, they've had those at the Springs and Worlds this past year. They may have run one at the Springs, but I didn't see it, nor do I know for sure. 500 Pounds on dirt is impressive. We're lucky if our biggest cl**** Carpet 2WD Open II, gets 6-700 pounds. Dirt pulls much less than carpet, the traction for it just isn't there.

Yea. We have a guy here fairly local that was a huge puller several years back. He has given me some good pointers. They pulled on carpet & some surface that he explained like glass ... He explained that the tires used on that surface were treated with some compound. When the vehicles were sat down they nearly stuck to the surface ( meaning traction wise ). They were pulling above 500 pounds quite a bit as well. I was amazed with all the things he built & pulled.

We also have some guys around here that run a pulling sled ( 1:1 ) scale. They have been great help as well. One of the crew members cuts tires for the pros.. This is a huge part pulling on dirt. Like was said the traction is just not there like other surfaces. The only pulling I have actually been a part of in the R/C world was on a small scale. About 8 guys pulled 8th & 10Th monster trucks. It was a neat thing to get to see. Since then the business is gone & the sled was sold ....

Yea, we pull mainly on carpet, but we do have my Clod on dirt. What part of Indiana are you in? NR/CTPA has 2 pulls in extreme NW Ohio every year. The Springs in May, and the Worlds in October. We've went to the last 2 Springs, but we'll probably only be going to the Worlds for a while.
