Well time for The Mudweiser to retire.

I had a lot of fun playing in the mud....
MUDDING IS FUN (http://www.ripper7racing.com/r7r/builds/rcs/wks/mudweiser/mudw_gallery/mwmud1.htm)
But with all the Trucks and builds I don't have time to drive everything and now that my daughter is 6 and ready for her own truck I figured a Christmas build was in order. Now this is a surprise but the little **** has figured out that she is getting a Truck for Christmas, I even spread out the questions about what kind of truck she'd like over the last 4 months to avoid letting the cat out of the bag. But she's sure she's getting one, so we will hide it at the bottom of a large box full of clothes.
Anyways, I was going to build an F650 using the Proline MGT F650 Body, it would have been freakin cool and really BIG! But she brought me a Bronco Hot wheels and said she'd like a truck like this, so Bronco it is, which is fine by me, the bronco is one of my favorite HPI bodies and for some reason I've never built a trail rig using one, so now I will and the icing on the cake is it for her.
I'll be using the HellCAT WK-7 chassis of course, I will keep the stock WK wheels and tires, it will see more mud than rock so the stock tires will work best. I plan to use a 65t but may down gear a 45t, I want just a little wheel speed to make mudding fun, but not as much as it has now with the stock gearing and a 45t.
The colors will be Tamiya white and Light blue, I will paint it with a very classic look. She wants the number 100 and she told me she wants a truck with skulls and she will call it "Skulley".
and the mock-up

Well I got the body mounted and the links cut, it's now right about 12.5"s WB.
http://www.ripper7racing.com/myimages/wheelyking/skulley/skulley_01.jpg
Now I need help with the paint scheme, I bought Light Blue and white.
I like this mangler.
http://www.frontiernet.net/~jmray/Items/Mangler47.jpg
But the wife isn't to sure about the black, I'm having a hard time with the girlie part.
I like the standard HPI paint scheme, but I'd like to set it a part a bit

This will be going on the hood....

and by the way, I want a Mangler really bad.....

Nice Bronco, I would love to have a real one, there is a 70 sitting around the corner from my house, it just sits and has for years.
I make the HellCAT Chassis', The Wk-7 for the Wheely King and the R-49 for the TLT.
Currently I'm closed I have a couple orders headed out and than I'm shutting down until January.
This is the site, sorry if this link is not allowed please remove it, I don't like to pimp just answering a question.

Well I really shouldn't have, but christmas will be here before we know it so I need to get this done and I'll be gone all weekend. Anyways after I tucked them in I started masking.
http://www.ripper7racing.com/myimages/wheelyking/skulley/skulley_03.jpg
and than painting, I'm using Rustoleum Semi Gloss black, it's a very durable paint but takes at least two days to cure enough to use, the longer the better though. I normally would have let this paint sit over night before pulling the masks because even after several hours it's still tacky, but I won't have a chance to work on it tomorrow or sunday, so off come the masks, I did bump a flare and a spot on the rear bed, but those are easy to fix, it was the hood I was protecting the most.
I think it looks great, now monday I can touch up and paint the roll bars with Rustoleum Hammered.

Thanks....
Time to paint the roll bars, I used Black Rustoleum hammered, I wanted a little variation between the hood and roll bars.
http://www.ripper7racing.com/myimages/wheelyking/skulley/skulley_05.jpg
Parts, Parts, and more Parts. I gave all the black plastic parts a quick spray with the black hammered to freshen them up and than detailed things with the silver. I stripped the rims and painted them with High Gloss black and than hand painted the silver rings. I also polished the Chassis rails, not quite mirror but shiney.

Well the wife went shopping with the kids so I got a chance to assemble the chassis, I may be a bit partial, but I think this is the nicest WK I've ever built. :)

No problem, I'm always glad to inspire. Let me know when your ready for a chassis. I plan to cut more HelCAT WK-7's in January.
As far as links go, I use 6/32 thread all, any hardware shop, 1/4" brake line, and aluminum tubing.
I drill out the rod ends to fit the 6/32, keep in mind not to dril them to large just enough to allow you to retap the holes. Cut the 6/32nd thread all to the deisired length, cut the brakeline to fit between the rod ends and than cut the aluminum tube to the same length and slide it over the brakeline.
This can be done just as easy with 4/40 thread all and 3/16 inch brakeline, but 4/40 is more expensive and at a times harder to find, but you won't have to tap the Rod ends. Also you can buy Rod ends to fit the 6/32 but again it's more expensive.
