sounds like u need a new engine if you didnt break it in properly.

you should take the motor apart and then see what is wrong with it . that is waht i would do.

Depends on budget, your tuning ability, your intentions with the truck, and your method of starting the truck.

The O.S. 18 cvrx is a great replacement. It also has a great price for what it is. Easy starting & keeps a tune very well. All nirto engines require a break in period though. It's worth doing right !

I really like my Picco .26 max. It has plenty of power and will hold a tune really well. Ofna makes a motor mount that you can use to drop it in to your MAXX. I've had mine for almost two years now and It still has a lot of power. Here's the specs.:) (http://http://www.ofna.com/eng-picco-26max.php)

i was looking in the below $200 range. all i want is for the truck to stay awy from my work room for maintinence and to be able to provide enough power to play in the dirt

check the compression before you write it off. if you dont have compression you could replace the sleeve and piston for may $60. if you do have compression it is probably a tuning issue. sounds like its getting lean.

If you are looking for something under $200, I would probably get a Traxxas TRX 3.3. I've never had any experience with them, but I really liked my REVO's 2.5R. I would expect that the same Traxxas quality would be used in the 3.3.

Just my 2 cents.:)

If you are not very good at your own engine maintenance, look into the engine replacement program with Traxxas. You can even upgrade at a decent price. But if you want to pay a little more money, I would suggest going with the O.S. It is reliable, fairly easy to tune, good warranty (on the sport models). It is an overall good engine for a good price.
