This is the only shell I've painted this year. But, it did just win first place in the Pro catagory of the CFX '07 #1 paint competition.

This shell was painted for a friend (another member of CFX) in a private contest we had for just the Pro painters, "Secret Santa '06". Since the Pro painters of CFX spend all year painting bodies for clients, at the end of our very first year at CFX, a few of us got together and thought it would be nice to paint each other a body to give as gifts. Everyone threw their name into a hat and we drew names to see who would be our assigned Pro. The only rules were to paint a body that would fit our assigned Pro's chassis, to use our assigned Pro's style as inspiration, and to have lots of fun doing it!
As busy as the end of the year was with the holidays and the beginning of this year with race season starting, enough of us found the time to sqeeze in a gift for a member of our CFX family.

Here are a few pics of the shell mounted.

Shame on you Maxx for not saying you painted it for Javier (I think that’s his name, well you get the point). lol

Anyways I that is the first time I seen the mounted pic’s, and pic’s taken out side. I give you two thumbs way up.
:)

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the two thumbs! ;) Yes Javier is his name. He lives in Puerto Rico where he races on road and also travels to Florida to race, and he is a much better painter then me. It was an honor to paint that body for him using his style as inspiration. Otherwise, I don't know if I could have pulled it off.

I've seen much improvement in your work, keep it up and you'll be joining us for this years Secret Santa project! ;)

Greg, the tail lights were kind of an after thought. While I did plan on painting them, the mesh thing was used in hopes of making it look more realistic. In actuality, it came out looking like a shower head. I tried though. I used the same material as the grill.

I see where you were going, like a 2000+ish Trans Am mesh taillight look. There's potential there, just needs the proper shading and/ or different shape. You still get props though for going that extra mile and trying it out, looks good.
